Abstract was the hardest thing for me. I am a detail oriented artist, I want to paint and draw out every little tiny detail. Every hair and eyelash, every blade of grass, EVERYTHING. This challenged me to paint detail without showing the detail. The first few paintings would start off "okay" but then I would start to add details that would throw the whole abstract idea out the door, so I finished that one and would start another. I sat and thought, what is something that means a lot to me that I would be able to show with lines, or dots, or some kind of weird objects. Not shading and detail. I turned up some music, pulled out my brightest colors and a paint brush and just went for it. I kept the idea of a horse in my mind, but I didnt think of the details. I naturally know the shape and structure of a horse, so I just painted as fast as I could so I didnt have time to think about it.
